I have been working as a personal trainer since 2010. I started CrossFit in 2013 and started coaching CrossFit in 2014. I am currently a Level 1 CrossFit trainer, a CrossFit Kids certified trainer, Sports-Specific Application certified, and an ISSA certified personal trainer.
Fitness is a very important part of my life. As a child I had very bad asthma and did not do much when it came to sports. When I got older I realized how exercise and sports could help my asthma. I started weight training and getting involved in different types of sports. Mostly recreational sports, but I really got involved in martial arts in 2005. I have participated in grappling tournaments and mixed martial arts competitions. Training for these competitions helped me to find my calling. Friends would come to me and ask me for tips on weight training and conditioning. That is when I decided to take the knowledge I had and expand on it. I decided to become a personal trainer to pass my knowledge on to others.
I transitioned from regular weightlifting to CrossFit because it was more of a challenge to me. I wanted to push myself to be in the best shape I could be, and I felt CrossFit would be able to do that. The intensity, the hard work, and the mental grind of pushing through a metcon is something I enjoy and can’t get with other programs.
I chose to be a coach to make a difference in others’ lives. Especially the kids and teenagers. The most satisfying part of what I do is seeing the expression on my clients’ faces as they progress through their training and reach their fitness goals. Knowing I made an impact in someone’s life in a positive way is why I love what I do.
